Hey, and happy Monday afternoon!
Summer is winding down if the sunrise after 6am is any indication.
I don’t think I am even a little bit ready for the coming cold. So, I will deny the approaching school year and eventual weather shift by focusing on things that feel summer-y.
So… what feels more summer-y than the vibrant plumage of a tropical bird? Not much! I can just picture this gorgeous bird gliding through the trees and landing to eat baby avocados or little, skittering lizards in the thick heat of Costa Rica or Guatemala.
I am excited to show you this new painting I have recently finished. This work will be available through Art in the Barn at the end of August, and then on my website after that if it doesn’t find a home at the art show.
A little background: Several months ago, perhaps even a couple of years, my cute dad suggested I paint a Quetzal. I saved a reference photo in the thirty-five tabs I have open on my phone until I finally made time. That time finally came, so (without further ado), here it is!
